I am writing this on behalf of the staff and owners of Vacation Properties La Cruz so others will have the opportunity to experience this amazing place! Thank you for an incredible weekend in La Cruz!
We arrived to the beautiful condo Nayri building in La Cruz by Uber in the early afternoon and were greeted by one of the workers, Marco. He escorted and assisted us into the elevator and up to the Penthouse. It was an extremely unique entrance because the elevator door opened right into the apartment. The actual key to get in is the elevator code which is different for each apartment. There are only 6 in the whole building and without the code the elevator will not move up or down. Upon entering the apartment, the first look is breathtaking with a complete view of the bay and looking directly over the Riviera Nayarit marina. The apartment is nice and bright with a very large kitchen with a center console stove and breakfast bar. The kitchen was awesome and equipped with anything and everything you could possibly need to prepare any type of meal. It even had a food processor, blender, coffee maker, nice cookware, dishes and glasses. I really enjoyed the very large wine glasses which did get a lot of use during our stay. The living area was large with windows and sliding doors all the way around with spectacular views in all directions. It had a nice size tv mounted on the wall with surround sound, all the movie channels, cable TV with plenty of English channels, Netflix, the news channels and plenty of sports all on demand. The living area was nicely furnished with a very comfortable couch, 2 stylish chairs and an interesting coffee table made from the truck of a tree. This is a beautiful place to chill at end of the day especially since the unit has air-conditioning throughout the house.
Just off the living area are 2 balconies (one has a brand-new gas grill) and the views are amazing. The condo is on the 6th floor so the view is breathtaking. You are directly over the marina so throughout the day you will see the many boats coming and going, from small fishing boats to the very large luxury yachts and the many tour boats that operate there. We were there in the summer so it was rather hot but in the winter, it would be perfect to hang out on the balcony. It was quite nice for us to take in the view from the living area in the air conditioning.
There is another balcony that has an entrance from the living area or the master bedroom. This is spectacular because each morning when you open your eyes and look out, it makes you go wow! There is no better way to awaken in the world. I just opened my eyes at sunrise and watched the reflection from the sun slowly make its way across the bay and all the local fisherman heading out to catch their haul of fish. It is in these moments that you smile and feel very lucky. If everyone could wake up this way there would be far less problems in the world. The bedroom has a separate air conditioning unit and Tempur-Pedic king size mattress with a very soft down comforter. We slept very well (like babies). One night we were awakened to a night thunderstorm which was fun to watch the lightening over the water. This is an occurrence that you can normally only find in the summer rainy season of Puerto Vallarta that runs from July to October. This bedroom also has its own beautiful large bathroom with double sinks and large shower with a wonderful large showerhead with fantastic water pressure that makes for one great shower.
The second bedroom has a king sized Tempur-Pedic mattress with down comforter as well. This bedroom also has a balcony, however looking at the beautiful Sierra Madre mountains to the east. Both rooms have plenty of closet and drawer space so all your things can stay organized. The second bathroom is just outside the bedroom in the hallway. A very nice bathroom with shower, again with the very large shower head to guarantee a fantastic shower.
The unit also has a washer and dryer in the utility room directly across from the second bathroom. This makes it convenient to stay current on your laundry if needed. We never used the washer and dryer but is was nice to know it was there just in case we needed it.
Our favorite part of this property is the private roof top deck and splash pool. This area was quite large with a complete wet bar with fridge, sink and ice maker. That was a pleasant surprise as I rarely see icemakers anywhere in Mexico let alone out by a pool. The pool is a small splash pool but perfect for hanging out with your favorite cocktail and add that with the fantastic 360-degree views of the bay and marina and you will understand why it was our favorite area of this magnificent penthouse condo. The rooftop area has incredible views, plenty of space to lounge and get some sun, an outdoor shower, bathroom and of course plenty of shade too. The pool is directly in the sun but feels nice. The pool is very shallow and nice to just chill and watch the view with a tropical drink!
This building has a pool also which is shared by all 6 units in the building. The pool is located at the back of the property along the beach. It is a wonderful area with a large palapa for shade with plenty of tables and chairs. It also has a full kitchen area with BBQ grill for afternoon cookouts. We did not have a chance to use it, but it is a beautiful area. Next to the BBQ area is the pool with large bench all the way down facing the ocean so it makes for another great spot to kick back and enjoy the view of the beach.
The beach area is just a few steps down. It is a very quiet beach with calm waters which makes it nice for swimming. We took a walk to the south along the beach the first day to see all the beautiful houses and condos there and it was very quiet and peaceful. To the north is the Marina and a great place for a walk in the mornings. It is beautiful along there with all the boats. The first section is the fish market where you can get fresh seafood from the local fishermen. They have small stands and will cut and filet your fish in front of you. There is nothing better than getting fresh tuna from a local fisherman and preparing it a few hours later. We prepared a seared tuna with wasabi and soy sauce.
As we continued our walk along the La Cruz Malecon in the Marina, we saw some amazing sailboats and yachts. Walking all the way around to the western side of the marina is the second beach of La Cruz, this beach is quite large and the waters somewhat rougher than behind the condo but still very nice. We noticed a beach club in front with tables and heard that it was very nice but did not have a chance to try it. We walked all the way to the tip of the marina, the entire Malecon is pretty with plenty of benches along the way to enjoy the view of the Banderas Bay. It is great to watch all of the boats coming and going. In the high season, they have a weekly artesian market along there. Over the 3 day stay, we spent most of the time enjoying the views, the pools and the beach. If you are looking for relaxation, tranquility and luxury then I would highly recommend the Penthouse at Nayri. Contact Rob or Steve and get ready for a great vacation!
