We stayed at a beautiful property from Vacation Properties La Cruz during a summer trip to La Cruz, Mexico and had an amazing time in the area. One of our days we went to Destiladeras Beach which is just a few kilometers to the north of La Cruz. This beach is fantastic with a park and large tall trees. The beach itself was very spacious with tables and chairs available for rent and some nice food and beverages as well. Although we rented and payed for the table and brought some of our own drinks but we did eventually order some food and some drinks from them and met some cool people also staying in La Cruz. I ordered a burger which was pretty tasty for beach food. This beach is dog friendly and quite popular with the local families. The day we were there the ocean was nice and calm so it made for great swimming, not mention it was 90 degrees with 90% humidity. Of course, we were there mid summer, probably the hottest time of the year. This beach has a great distance for walking and the sand is very nice on the feet, not too granular but soft and rather hard packed which made it very nice for a long walk. This beach is on the old road to Punta Mita, however there is a cut off from the main new highway to make for easy access.
On another day we made our way to the main Punta Mita beach and it was not what we expected based on everything we read, it was a rather small beach but had plenty of restaurants. There were beach front restaurants so you can have your feet in the sand. We had some great giant margaritas, some food and enjoyed the local flare of this beach. We had a seafood platter for 2 and it was awesome! It had lobster, shrimp, smoked oysters, fresh fish, octopus and plenty of fresh vegetables. There was plenty of is beach vendors selling every kind of souvenirs that you can imagine. That bothers some people, especially when they are trying to eat. But, it really does not bother me that much and we did buy some things from them. I bought some Monte Crisco cigars and I think I paid about 6 USD per cigar. My wife got some jewelry and had a beach message. That was very nice and you know that I got good husband points for the night. Anyway, it was a very wonderful day that we enjoyed. Although, I liked Manzanillo beach a bit more as it was much more tranquil and larger with more room to roam. The best beaches around are in Punta Mita, but they are not accessible to the public. The golf course community and the Four Seasons Hotel have made those spectacular beaches private. Basically, they are only for the rich and famous because that area is the very expensive and designed for the elite. Many movie stars have made Punta Mita their luxury getaway such as; Gwyneth Paltrow, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Aniston, Eva Longoria and Mario Lopez, Kanye West, Orlando Bloom, Vince Vaughn, Demi Moore and Kim Kardashian, to name just a few. I looked that up online (to be truthful) and have seen many TMZ episodes with stars on the beach in Punta Mita capturing photos from boats with drones. Of course, any guest staying at any property within the gated Four Seasons Hotel property is welcome to any of the beaches within that area. It was published that Gwyneth Paltrow paid more that 18,000 USD weekly for her property and stayed for quite a while.
We also discovered another beach called Manzanilla Beach which was quite nice right in front of the marina just slightly to the south. We had a really great day at Eva Mandarina – Beach Club, where we could walk from our vacation home through the marina and to the beach club. It was rather expensive, but nice with loungers, tables and chairs on the beach. There was a wedding going on in another section the day we were there so we could enjoy some fine Mariachi music throughout the day. The food was excellent. I had the whole snapper and my wife had garlic shrimp. We spent the entire day there relaxing, swimming and getting some sun. It was a very unique beach club with a good vibe, I would recommend it.
The other beach in La Cruz is on the other side of the marina. We really did not spend a lot of time there but we did take a walk to check out some of the houses and condos along the beach. One of the condos along that stretch is the Nayri condos and we just booked it for next year again from Vacation Properties La Cruz, they are wonderful and their properties are fantastic. We have stayed now in 2 of the properties and have loved them both. We are very active and love comfort. Rob from Vacation Properties La Cruz was very helpful getting us exactly what we wanted. I highly recommend them for your vacation in La Cruz. Make sure to enjoy the beaches!!
